Takes on role as Special Advisor to Board of Directors

UAE-based Maritime Industrial Services Co. Ltd. Inc. (OSE: MIS) announces that Jerry M. Smith has decided to step down from his role as Managing Director. He remains a key member of the Board of Directors of MIS and has taken on the role of Special Advisor to the Board of Directors assisting in BOD administration, special projects, business development and stakeholder relationships. Kevin J. Hudson, MIS’ current Group CEO, was elected to the Board of Directors at the MIS Annual General Meeting and has taken on the role of Managing Director of the MIS Group.

Under Smith’s leadership, MIS has had an average annual growth rate of over 15% with profitable operations each and every year, growing MIS to a $400 mn company and expanding its scope of services to cover the rig new-build value stream thereby making the company more competitive in today’s current industry environment. Speaking on behalf of the board, Mr. Charles L. Davis, Chairman of the Board, thanked Mr. Smith for his extensive contribution over the years. “As one of the founding members of MIS, Jerry established the ground work that has taken MIS to its levels of growth and development today.
